*-- Phoenix 1:2 Risalo*

At the base of the pantheons, where trees are plentiful, there is a few acres of pines that experience unseasonable snowfall year around. Even in the heat of summer the trees remain dappled with a dusting of powdery snow. At the heights of winter the trees become almost impassable, as snow mounds high enough to bury a fully grown human.

### History

---

Of the many civilizations that came and went through the Pantheons over the course of civilizations, the first record of this snow dappled place came from an account by a nameless surveyor of the Talkan Empire. They called it the White Forest, or Ri Salo (romanized for your convenience) As people came and went from the area, the name stuck, though it's meaning was lost. Soon known as the Risalo forest, it is a beloved patch of land that is full of rumors and stories. Tours will walk through it in the daylight hours, though few stay overnight, due to the dangerous fey creatures that inhabit the frozen trees.

*-- Source unknown*

Considered the 'mother of all mountains' by most Fulgurian inhabitants and legends, Mount Panthea more than lives up to its lofty expectations by the sheer size and power found there. It is the tallest peak of The Pantheons, and therefore all of the country of Fulguria; nestled deep in the range, it is a force to be reckoned with.

### History

---

There are innumerable legends about Mount Panthea ranging back hundreds of thousands of years. \[Some will be added here at a later date\]

\[More history will be added at a later date\]

The beauty and majesty of the famous mountain has lured many an unsuspecting or curious visitor. Many lives have been lost on Mount Panthea due to how dangerous it can be.

### Locale

---

At the foot of Mount Panthea (facing the direction of distant capitol of Fulguria, the city of Marrow) sits the quaint old village of Origa. Those most familiar with the mountain and her dangers can be found in the highest quantity residing there.

Between the foot of Mount Panthea and her snowline lays a massive thriving zone of thick coniferous forests. This section of the mountain is teeming with wildlife and is often the safer section for tourists/hikers.

From the snowline onward, however, the mountain quickly becomes inhospitable. Permanent snow and frequent blizzards batter everything. Despite this, there is still a surprising amount of life found in the more sparse forests of the taiga and even above where the trees begin to thin in to an expanse of snow and rock. Mysterious hidden caves filled with very fragile magic crystalline structures can rarely be happened upon amongst the blankets of snow of this altitude.

Dangerous blizzards are a constant threat above the snowline, appearing seemingly out of the blue very quickly and catching some of even the best hikers and climbers off guard.

Along the mountain at any level it is possible to stumble upon curious ancient ruins, some resembling temples, dotting the vast mountainside.

One species of Owlet Moths can be found ONLY on Mount Panthea: the Frost Owlet Moths (or "Frowlets" as they are locally called).

# The Bifrost Terminal

# The Bifrost Terminal

<table border="1" id="bkmrk-%5Bquote-content%5D----%5B" style="border-collapse: collapse; border-width: 1px; border-style: hidden; width: 100%; height: 834.047px;"><colgroup><col style="width: 64.0476%;"></col><col style="width: 35.9524%;"></col></colgroup><tbody><tr style="height: 834.047px;"><td style="border-style: hidden; height: 834.047px;">> The statue reaches even higher than the tallest peak of The Pantheons it is carved into. A testament to its importance. Piercing light across the region. Seen from all around. A lighthouse, a beacon to all, guiding souls across the shores of the interworld planes, beckoning them to this resplendent monument, a first of its kind on Thraelos; the best across worlds. The Bifrost Terminal will be the greatest achievement Thraelos has ever known.

*-- TITAN CEO*

The first of its kind on Thraelos, The Bifrost Terminal was a portal magitech transportation hub set on the highest peak of [The Pantheons mountain range](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/locations-7CC/chapter/the-pantheon-mountains-wip "The Pantheon Mountains [COMING SOON]"). Built by megacorporation [TITAN](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/npcs/page/titan-info-coming-soon "TITAN [INFO COMING SOON]"), the Terminal put into use the company's own innovative cutting edge discoveries with the portal magic inherent to the world of Thraelos, having invented a way to use that magic to instead connect to other worlds. Essentially, The Bifrost Terminal was the first interworld connecting port in the history of Thraelos.

It now stands abandoned, left to fade from memory after The Incident that closed its doors only a week after the grand opening a century ago.

### History

---

<p class="callout info">This is the current information that the player characters would have had the easy opportunity to acquire by various means, such as having heard over time or speaking with others, at present R2 stage.</p>

#### ✦ Prior to The incident

Taking approximately 5 years to construct, for all intents and purposes, the Terminal had a fairly standard construction-- if anything ever occurred throughout, it was never made public. Most of the construction was very carefully advertised as TITAN was leaning into hype and mystery to amp up the opening of the facility. Being the first, that is known of, to invent interworld portal magitech, the general populace had high trust in the old and well-established historic megacorporation that is TITAN to create such an important feat for the world overall.

The Bifrost Terminal held its grand opening in the spring of a century past. According to those who were there, it was the most incredible, if not a bit intimidatingly opulent, event of their lives. Even the walk from the grand entrance archway to the building entrance proper was pleasant and shielded by magic from the blistering blizzard winds around it, now just an incredible sight to see rather than a threat. Everything was perfect. It opened with perfection and continued the pattern for a full week before disaster struck.

According to information found as of round two, employees reported noticing strange sounds coming from deeper in the mountain, beyond high security areas-- but were not allowed to inquire more about the noises. Additionally, some employees were required to input codes into the portals for unknown reasons, the pattern changing only on the day of the incident when a different kind of code was required to be put in.

#### ✦ The Incident

According to the understanding of those that were there, and according to the media statement put out by TITAN, someone from the world of [Umbrallah](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/locations/page/umbrallah-info-coming-soon "Umbrallah [INFO COMING SOON]") committed a sabotaging attack on the Bifrost Terminal's portal magitech after only a week of operation, causing the entire system and facility to malfunction catastrophically. Those who were within portals at the time of the sabotage have been presumed dead ever since.

According to information found during round one left behind by employees of the Terminal over a century ago, no actual deaths were ever accounted for as there were no bodies. The writing on a wall in the mall seems to echo that idea, stating: "DO NOT FORGET: WE ARE NOT DEAD".

#### ✦ Post Incident and Closure

The Bifrost Terminal immediately shut its doors and was left as it stood, an abandoned dream, marred forever with the presumed deaths of those lost that day. TITAN held memorials for those lost, but far away from the Terminal itself. As the facility was now no longer functioning, the means of transport there had also been turned off. What used to be an easy step through the archway in [Origa](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/locations-7CC/page/origa "Origa") at the base of [Mount Panthea](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/locations-7CC/page/mount-panthea "Mount Panthea") to arrive out of the mirrored archway in the courtyard of the Terminal now became an arduously dangerous trek on foot or air. Still, the soft glow of the beacon could be seen from miles and miles around in all directions; the residual magitech energy assumed to dwindle in time through half-life.

#### ✦ Present Day

The glow has never ceased nor has it dimmed much at all. It remains, now sitting in the minds of any who see it in the distant sky as little more than a permanent star on the horizon. ever hanging below Thraelos' rings. Few ever manage to make treks up to the long-abandoned Terminal, and fewer still ever manage to actually get inside, or return-- if some rumors are to be believed. With the storms as treacherous as they are up within The Pantheons, many assume any who have never returned to simply have fallen to the elements. It is an incredibly dangerous trek after all. Even the most skilled of flyers hesitate or outright refuse at the prospect of taking that trip.

There is a powerful Entity residing inside of the Terminal who has tasked those who have entered with trying to "free the spirits trapped" there.

Thanks to those who were transported back outside of the Terminal, the power has been restored to the facility (though in a malfunctioning and unreliable state). Deeper in, those trapped inside have found TITAN security bots who are usually friendly, but the malfunctioning power seems to be causing them to become dangerous. Additionally, they now have access to the numerous TITAN Wellness Booths scattered around the employee-only areas.

### Locale

---

#### ✦ Outside

Imposing and more akin to an opulent fortress than a transportation facility, the exterior of The Bifrost Terminal is massive and decorated almost excessively. Even after a century, the facility was built so well, to last eons, that it looks nearly as pristine as the day it opened in complete spite of the weather around it. The Leviathan Beacon stands as formidable as ever against the bleak landscape.

#### ✧ Exterior Areas

- Grand portal archway
    - Presently deactivated; used to connect to the base of Mount Panthea, via the identical archway in Origa
- Courtyard
- Peak of Mount Panthea
    - The Leviathan Beacon reaches higher than the peak
- The beacon statue of the Leviathan
- Utilities department
    - Located inside of the platform under The Bifrost Terminal

##### ✧ The Local Flora and Fauna

Most notably, the [Frost Owlet Moths](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/bestiary/page/frost-owlet-moths-wip "Frost Owlet Moths [INFO COMING SOON]") can be found at the peak of Mount Panthea, aka at The Bifrost Terminal. Presumably attracted to the cyan light as it matches closely to their own bio-glow.

Starting round two, an aggressive horde of [Snowbits](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/bestiary/page/snowbits "Snowbits") has begun attacking those on the outside of the Terminal in the hopes of destroying the electrical equipment that was recently turned back on. The creatures are thought to be attacking because they do not like the loud humming that the machines are creating as they come back to life.

##### ✧ The Leviathan Beacon

TITAN's stylized version of the mythological world dragon of Thraelos, [The Leviathan](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/lore-and-legends/page/the-leviathan-info-coming-soon "The Leviathan [INFO COMING SOON]"). With its simplified telltale horn pattern, it points its head toward the sky and holds the gem of the beacon itself between its jaws. The head reaches higher than the very peak of Mount Panthea just behind it, causing the light to be seen from all angles and all sides for miles and miles around. This was, of course, intentional and a symbol of a metaphorical lighthouse for this first interworld port-- and for pride.

#### ✦ Inside

The inside of the Bifrost is cavernous in many ways. It has the feeling of a space meant to house many many thousands of people, and yet now not a single living person is here-- that we know of currently. Each step echoes far into the un-seeable distance. Every breath seems loud. However, the building itself seems not to miss these people it never got to host. It seems to have the energy of something patient, biding its time, willing and more than able to wait. It was built to last decades and decades, and so waiting a few hundred years would not-- and clearly has not-- hurt it. There is very little sign of age or abandonment at all, especially on the inside.

#### ✧ Interior Areas

- Library
- Greenhouse
- Cafe
- Mini-hotel
- Lounge
- Post office
- Pool
- Mall
- Customs
- Infirmary
- Spa
- Arcade
- Daycare
- Luggage Claim
- Lost &amp; Found

##### ✧ Staff-Only Areas

Staff only areas have been made available to those trapped inside thanks to the power being turned on by those on the outside, as of round two. These new sections include:

- Employee traverse halls and corridors
- Offices
- Low-level security rooms
- Break rooms
- Janitorial rooms
- Storage
- Supply closets
- Wellness Booths

##### ✧ The Portal Bay

As of round two, those trapped inside have the ability to access the ground zero of The Incident:

- The Portal Bay
    - Portal Concourses
    - Portal Gates

##### ✧ The Delegated's Location

A select number of those trapped inside have been moved to a new area to assist in keeping the power on, as of round two:

- Maintenance department

##### ✧ TITAN Wellness Booths

Scattered throughout the Staff-Only areas are small photobooth-esque rooms called "Wellness Booths". These were areas for employees to destress by speaking with an AI hologram version of one of TITAN's mascots: [Trinket](https://archive.thraelosverse.com/books/npcs/page/trinket-ai-version "Trinket (AI version)"). The booths would keep records of the audio recorded within. As of round two, now that the power is somewhat back on, those who are trapped may listen to a few of the most recent files that were recorded before the Terminal went dark.

##### ✧ The Residual Magic

A stunning bright cyan blue, the low glow seen throughout the Terminal in the current day is still thought to be the residual portal magic slowly going through half-life until, one day, it will completely fade away. Upon entering the building, it feels as though perhaps the remaining lights are also acting as emergency lighting. Either way, as it stands currently, the power is off and this magic is very low in potency. Perhaps it can be turned back on...

##### ✧ The Trapped Souls

Presumed to be the ghosts of those that supposedly perished during The Incident. Nothing as of now is known about these souls other than there is a singular powerful Entity among them that has complete wherewithal to the current state of things...

Now, it's just a ruins thanks to TITAN.

Marvela Kass is/was an ancient city in thraleos that was home to numerous inhabitants and deities. Most importantly are a bunch of dragons whose existence is unknown.

### History

---

Most of its history is unknown, but it had been said that it existed for centuries. What people do know is that it TITAN wanted a lot of the treasures inside and plundered the place as much as possible. There was a big final fight with heavy cost, but it ended up in the entire city being hidden from view.

### Locale

---

Not much to see these days. It is filled with weapons and fog. With buildings and statues of varying importance scattered around in a decaying state. It used to be one of the largest places on the map before the terminal was built. Now, nobody knows where the city's location. Some people don't even think the place exists, and yet people swore they saw it. It also has a habit of moving around, something that should be impossible as it is/was a city.
