Doe Hawthorne (WIP for now)

At first glance, an aloof, no-nonsense teenager with something to prove, which is half true. Working as an apprentice to the solitary Witch Cordelia Hawthorne, Doe still has a lot to learn about how to use her powers. 

Backstory

Doe is not Cordelia's, not originally, at least. She grew up in a small village at the base of a mountain not unlike that of Origa and mount Panthea. Her family would provide guides and aid to anyone trying to get to the summit. Her family, while meaning well, often came off as neglectful, in response, Doe created a habit of running away. What gave her parents heart palpitations, she saw as a bit of hide-and-seek.

The mountains, however, are a dangerous place, and one day, they never did find her.

They begged and pleaded anyone that would listen for help, to save their girl, to find her, and bring her back home safe, but it had been days with no word from Doe. Unfortunately, they knew it would be no use even if they did find her. It was then, to their luck, when Cordelia, a Witch known to dabble in exorcisms, and rumored to know of necromancy, passed through town. 

Out of options and WORD by grief, they asked the Witch for help. She obliged under only one condition, that she would keep the child safe, under her own care. Doe's parents agreed, at least their child would have a chance at life.

Venturing up into the mountains, Cordelia eventually found the girl, only 14, frozen and with a slash across her neck.

She does not talk because she simply doesn't want to, however, but because she cannot. Doe speaks through a mix of writing and sign language
