Table of ContentsBackstoryEmerald was born in a tiny forest village where she spent her early childhood years learning how to hunt while also being a little troublemaker. One horrible night shortly after her ninth birthday, the village was raided and burned to the ground. She only managed to escape with the help of her best friend, who became the only two survivors. They were able to survive on their own for a few weeks by hiding in the outskirts of another town, but one careless mistake got her friend caught stealing and they were separated. She waited for him for several days, but instead was happened upon by a lovely old couple who felt pity for the slightly crispy child and took her in. The rest of her childhood years were spent being raised in a loving home well into her teenage years. At around the age of seventeen she made friends with a strange and lonely young woman with extremely long hair, and they became nigh inseparable... Until her childhood best friend randomly showed back up, his spirit broken and his kind-heartedness replaced with bitterness and cynicism. While she was completely ready to welcome him back into her life, he claimed his appearance to only be temporary so that he could have peace of mind knowing she was being loved and taken care of- though he didn't very much approve of her new friend. His prompt re-disappearance broke her heart, which upset her new best friend very much... |

Personality
Emerald is the ultimate sidekick: cute, witty, charming, and somehow both extremely lucky and extremely unlucky. She can worm her way into most peoples' good graces, though it's hardly ever genuine. While she is generally good-natured, she is also incredibly manipulative and a touch self-centered. Rules and laws apply to everyone but herself unless specifically stated by her. While there are lines she doesn't want to cross, at the end of the day what matters most to her is that she lives to see tomorrow- preferably with all of her fingers and toes still attached but she's willing to lose a few in the process if she has to.
There are only two people she would willingly sacrifice herself for. You are not one of them.

To put it bluntly, Emerald is a thief. She won't just steal things she wants for herself, either- sometimes she'll take peoples' things as a prank and give them back later, or sometimes she'll take something out of spite just so that you don't have it anymore.
✦ [Pockets of Infinity]
One of her adventures allowed her to "acquire" a wizard's bag of holding. However, she didn't like how it looked and instead used the inner lining to sew new pockets into her shorts. This allows her to carry just about anything she wants with her, provided it'll fit in her pocket. She mostly uses them to carry trinkets and shiny things, but also makes sure to stock up on bottled water and dried rations- one never knows when the next meal will be.

Her magic allows her to reshape objects, but only if she is touching them and knows what they are made up of on an atomic level. It works a bit like Legos: they don't stop being bricks and none are added or removed, but they can be moved around to make a different shape that is more convenient for her purposes. This also allows her to determine what something ISN'T made of due to process of elimination. Using this magic drains her energy, mentally and literally. She requires focus for more complex things and will get tired the longer it takes for her to reshape something, so it's not very helpful in combat scenarios.

✦ Imperative Strengths
Emerald is very agile and nimble, generally able to slip around people and through tight gaps. While she doesn't always land on her feet, she also never lands on her head. She is also able to throw knives with uncanny accuracy.

She reacts very strongly to even the smallest fires: if someone is carrying a lighter or a candle, she'll give them a very wide berth and make sure she has a clear exit path. This makes it hard for her to focus on anything else as she's too distracted with trying not to panic.
