Table of ContentsBackstoryEster is a long lived traveller who has journeyed across the galaxies, recording all that they have seen and experienced into their personal notebook. Once gaining sentience, they wished to learn everything there possibly is to learn about, well, everything, and compile it in what they hoped would become the largest and most comprehensive database in the universe.
Their labour has borne fruit so far, as the Praxxi Infosphere is known to be a fount of incredible knowledge. However, a scribe’s work is never done as there is always more, yet more out there to discover and figure out. Some may find this an endless and hopeless task, but as far as Ester is concerned, so long as they have more things to discover about the universe and how it works, they have a reason to remain active on this mortal coil. |

Abilities
Every Praxxi Maintenance Droid was designed by their creators to be the most brilliant and efficient technicians on the planet. Their processors are essentially supercomputers that can handle complex equations, debug the worst errors and solve the toughest of crosswords. After the Praxxi died out this remained a central facet spread across their entire race. Ester has used this knowledge to protect the Infosphere as well - the entire station is armed to the teeth with clever traps and high powered artillery. Essentially so long as the item in question is some form of technology, Ester will be able to rework it to their advantage.
Another natural feature of the Praxxi Droid is its propulsion ability. This normally creates a low level hum but Ester through their travels has slowly swapped out their body parts to be the most effective for stealth and speed. That, and they really got quite tired of hearing that hum.

- Tech Savant
Ester has spent years on their satellite station doing the technological equivalent of turning water into wine - Arguably they know more about repairing and modifying technology than the average Praxxi Droid does! So long as an object is electronic or some form of technology, they will be able to repurpose it into a device of some use for them in that moment in time.
- Stealthy
Praxxi Droids could already float around pretty quickly, but thanks to Ester’s modifications their propulsion device is also dramatically quieter as well! Combined with their overall small stature, Ester could sneak through places like a ghost, provided they really put their mind to it.
- Photographic Memory
Being a living supercomputer has its perks. Namely, Ester catalogues anything and everything they see or hear, right down to the smallest of irrelevant details. While this is done primarily for documenting their journeys, this also means Ester can pull up long forgotten statements or potential solutions to dilemmas with the snap of a rubberised clawtip.
✧ Imperative Weaknesses
- Tactless
Ester’s still figuring out this whole “real living being with thoughts and feelings and emotions” thing. They still have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and (unfortunately) they don’t seem to understand the concept of boundaries or tact. Their loose lips are more than likely bound to land them in troublesome situations, as they broadcast their thoughts, free of a filter, freely to everyone (and everything) they happen to come across.
- Defenseless
Praxxi Droids were not built for combat. They may be sturdier than they look, but without any kind of technology to fight back Ester is practically a floating, rather uncomfortable looking punching bag. Those little tendril graspers of theirs aren’t going to do anything more than give a mean pinch, either.
...Ester should probably stay out of trouble.
- Pacifist
Ester is a firm believer in life. They live to study all walks and forms of life, big or small, friendly or otherwise. While defense is sometimes necessary, Ester will never create lethal devices, nor will they condone the killing of other "living" things, irregardless of if said thing is a direct threat to them or not. This is something they will not shake on, no matter what - And it's probably the most likely cause of them getting into fights while being trapped in this haunted terminal.

Usage Notes
I would welcome any and all interpretations and depictions of Ester in your works - I love seeing my little creatures!
Do bear in mind however that Ester will remember and take note of everything they bear witness to, they are after all a living database.
This does include allowing violence and death (however that would apply to a robot), but I do request that if Ester goes down, they go down in a really cool way, y'know?

Author's Notes
✦ Modifying any part of yourself is actually seen as rather taboo in Praxxi Droid society, so while Ester is regarded as a high profile and important member of the race, they are also seen as somewhat of an outcast.
✦ Ester will often keep their cloak closed unless absolutely necessary. This isn't due to any lack of confidence in their appearance of anything, it's simply a bit more defense than not having the cloak at all. Tangentially related - Ester has noted that people tend to react better to and treat them more like a sapient entity if they are seen to be wearing some form of clothing.
