Everything I do these days it's for her sake, I'm probably the only one who hasn't given up. I cant. -- Jaeger     Jaeger is a man who doesn't need or want a lot in life. In the past he served as an US Army ranger, but that to him felt like another life. He settled down in middle America with a lovely French girl and had a daughter together Renee. To support them he took up working in the steel industry taking advantage of his large strength and size. A couple of years ago his with lost her life in a car crash an incident which Renee blamed herself for taking into drinking and developing an alcohol dependency. One night she didn't come home and now he's searching everywhere to find her, even places reserved for the occult.     Backstory Personality Abilities Skills & Stats Usage Notes Gallery Author's Notes Backstory Jaeger lives out in the Midwest of America with his daughter Renee (Who recently started going by Psyreen). He's a second generation US citizen hailing from German ancestry. When he was a young man he joined the US Army and was good enough to become an Army Ranger, serving mostly during the Afghanistan era. It was on a two year operational tour that he met a energetic French soldier, while he was laid back generally he found her energy and excitement endearing. At the end of the tour he proposed to her and settled down with her in his home town. Having not much work in his home and a young daughter on the way, he applied to a job at a nearby steelworks using his considerable size and strength to his advantage and tired of the military lifestyle. For the next 14 years he was happy, his daughter was growing up well she had grown fascinated with abandoned buildings and mysterious, he'd taken to resorting cars, after many years another child was on the way. Things felt just right. However one night is all it takes to have a perfect world shatter. Renee was being particular obstinate to her pregnant mother on a journey home, a young girl going through puberty and a pregnant wide was for a man like Jaeger a lot to deal with, frustrated by the argument Jaeger asked his wife if she could take Renee out for a bit and spend some time to sort out there problems. He doesn't know the full story however the next call he received made his blood freeze. His wife and unborn child had not survived a car crash and Renee was badly injured. As she recovered she remained silent on what had transpired but it was clear to him it had hit heavily, as she increasingly became interested in the occult. Unknown to him she had also started going down a darker path. A year on from the tragic accident he received a call from the police, instantly he feared the worse, but sighed in relief when he saw his daughter in handcuffs, before asking for the full story. She had been caught shoplifting and the police had found her in possession of alcohol. It was this moment he realized in his own grief he had missed the warning signs of his daughter and only family left, and decided now was the time to step up and not left her become so self destructive. He would live for her.

The Soldier

Growing up in a German household and serving in the Rangers, Jaeger doesn't outwardly express himself. He keeps a generally reserved and gentle expression across his face, in the face of tragedy seeing death of friends and family firsthand, he has in a way hardened part of his heart to help him cope. Though this has left to a slight disconnect between his current friends and family as none of them have ever seen him even shed a tear. But deep down he is a caring and emotional man, he remembers the names and faces of everyone he's lost. Though Psyreen never saw when she was hospital, he had a large emotional outburst and due to his size and bulk was sedated to calm him down. 

✧ The Father

After losing two thirds of his world, and almost losing the last part, he decided to do whatever he could to cling onto that last third. When he found Psyreen had developed a drinking problem he tried hard to stop it, only for her to go into shock, as her body had developed an alcohol dependency. Unsure what to do and not wealthy enough for Psyreen to go to rehab, he buys her beer as the only option, hoping that one day, the problem will be gone for good. He struggles in parenting but always tries his best for her.

The only known living family he has left is Psyreen, and he is wholly devoted to doing what he can so she can live the best possible life, her recent disappearance and lack of police interest in such a case have led him to explore other avenues, knowing her love of the occult he figures that he might find clues in some old buildings, he searched online for such places and one that was tagged on her computer was the Bifrost terminal.

Being generally laid back and a large man, people rarely threaten such a man, but his easy going nature and helpful attitude have garnered him many friends, he's seen as the man to go to when you need some heavy work doing, and he likes to sit and have a beer while fishing or exchanging old war stories, he doesn't actively seek out friends but something about him often draws people towards him, once they realize he's not a big scary guy.

Having been two years since his wife passed, and with his focus on being there for Psyreen he has had little time for romance, that's not that he wouldn't be adverse to trying again, he knows his wife wouldn't want him to be alone. But they would have to get on with Psyreen and for the last 2 years she's been difficult. To be honest though he he could find someone she liked he'd probably jump at the chance to get along with them because he really struggles to understand the mind of a teenage girl.

His considerable size and bulk along with his military training have imbued him with a great amount of physical strength and endurance, he is part of the 1000lbs club, which is a combined Bench/Deadlift and Squat of over 1000lbs for 1 rep max, and calling him big guy is no shortage of a lie.

✦ DIY

Being a man in a traditional style household he did and does most of the odd jobs around the house, he is considerably good at the MacGyver method method of putting odd things together to make a working tool. This has helped out in his ability to restore cars, and the fact he can work the steel himself. Most of the furnishing in his house was built by him, and he has the scars across his hands and eye to prove it.

Serving in the Rangers he is skilled at things such as critical thinking, firearms and basic first aid, along with camouflage and scouting practices. This means that in an emergency rather then panicking he assess the situation for what would be the best course of action, to avoid making the situation worse. He isn't stupid and will consider multiple options before making a move.
