Sheri Penell is the leader of a pirate/expedition group named the Defiants. The Defiants were once a group that belonged to her father, but now it's her group.

Backstory

Sheri spend most of her childhood in the streets, stealing food from people and making a shelter out of whatever materials she could find. It wasn't an easy or pretty life either, as she had to evade the authorities every once in a while. She was found by a canine pirate explorer named Jeremiah Penell, the leader of the Defiants. He took pity in the poor cat and adopted her at the spot when she was around 5. Ever since then, Sheri had been raised by Jeremiah and was trained by him in everything he knows, like exploring and stealing.

As a member of the Defiants, Sheri has knowledge of many artifacts and locations that most normal folk don't know about, and she sometimes flouts her accomplishments in front of other members. However, there was one adventure that led her to an abandoned temple looking to find an ancient idol when she was only 14, only to find someone else alread having it. There was a massive fight afterwards that resulted in Sheri losing her eye completely and being forced to wear an eyepatch to cover it up for the rest of her llfe. It didn't matter. She got the idol, so the cost was worth it.

One day when she was around 19, Sheri went on a boat with her father in order to steal an underwater relic, but a storm showed up abruptly the boat sunk. Despite both surviving the original storm, Jeremiah ended up having to swim to another island, in which he never returned, leaving Sheri all alone until she was found by another member of the Defiants. She has become the leader of the Defiants ever since.

A few years later, at age 22, Sheri would find a sleeping fox with two colors named Corey. He was in a coma for who knows how long. Sheri woke Corey up from the coma thanks to a few spells she knows. When Corey followed her, Sheri saw him as too clingy, but decided to keep him aboard because there was nowhere else for the fox to go. It wasn't easy, with fights between Sheri, Corey, and a lot of the remaining Defiants. But then one day, a group of raiders had kidnapped Sheri due to her father's unpaid debts with them. She was imprisoned for a long time until Corey came in and freed Sheri himself. This caused something to change inside Sheri. Once seeing him as a weak and helpless fox into something like a brother who she grew close with. She even gave Corey her family name as thanks.

Training with Corey had unlocked potential in both of them as Corey managed to learn dark and light abilities while Sheri managed to learn how to create, control, and manipulate plants. This training had bonded Sheri and Corey like never before and now the two are an inseparable pair that can do literally anything as long as they put their minds to it.
